Jessika Mankin, LMT
Massage Therapist / Owner
I've been a Massage Therapist in private practice since 2005 and I love what I do! I enjoy helping my clients let go of the world while they relax, listen to their bodies, and find relief from pain and tension.
My family and friends have been asking me to work on their backs since I was little. I've always had a knack for finding knots and relieving pain and stress.
My father studied nutrition, yoga, naturopathy, and Ayurvedic health practices. My mother was an assistant midwife and a reiki master who was a perpetual sponge of health information. I was lucky to have my parents share what they had learned with me, piquing my curiosity and starting me on a learning journey of my own in the natural and traditional healing fields.
After completing a short, but wonderful, massage therapy program in Austin in 2000, I felt that I needed more training in body mechanics to protect my body from the physical strains of a massage career. I found a much longer, in-depth massage program in San Diego and completed that in 2006. Both programs offered a beautiful combination of Eastern and Western approaches to the body. I also discovered that the style of massage that I had naturally done as a child was nearly identical to Asian bodywork practices that move stagnant energy and relieve pain.
In the mid 2000's, I worked as an elderly caregiver, specializing in hospice and dementia. I took prerequisite courses to work towards becoming a DO, because I wanted to help improve the health system from the inside. Unfortunately, I had three family members who were ill and needed my care over the course of a decade. After helping navigate my loved ones through medical visits, daily care and helping two of them pass on, I had had my fill of the medical system and was ready to refocus all of my energies towards my first love, massage.
I completed yoga teacher training, BodyMind Coaching, and many additional holistic health classes so that I could offer my massage clients the best experience possible.
I recently completed my Auricular Therapy training for the placement of ear seeds (similar to reflexology). This system of healing is clinically proven and I'm excited to help my clients feel better in a whole new way!
Today I have a thriving massage practice, in beautiful Fort Collins, were I grew up. l love this community and the people here. When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two year old boy.
I'm grateful to have the opportunity to help my clients feel their best so that they can share their gifts with the world and enjoy their lives to the fullest.
We all need regular maintenance to live in ease and comfort. Book with me today to take your next step to your best self!
